Air Cargo – Prohibited & Restricted Goods

Prohibited goods are not permitted for air shipment — without exception. These items are banned either by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) or by regulations in the countries we serve. Please check the prohibited goods list before attempting to ship any such items. Restricted goods may be shipped only under approved special conditions.

Air Shipping Prohibitions (IATA and US Regulations)

Shipping goods to Uganda is subject to strict prohibitions and restrictions based on IATA air transport rules, US export regulations, and Ugandan law, covering hazardous materials, narcotics, counterfeit items, animal products, and more.

Shipping by air follows International Air Transport Association (IATA) regulations and US export controls. Key prohibited items include:

Lithium Batteries & Power banks: These batteries (UN 3090 & UN3480) used in watches, cameras, etc., can overheat and cause fires. They are forbidden as cargo on passenger aircraft​. However, they may be shipped on cargo-only flights with special precautions. As a company policy, we do not ship ANY batteries
Alcohol, beer, and wine are prohibited from shipping on all carriers. Alcoholic Beverage
Cannabidiol, CBD oil, CBD capsules, and other CBD products. A derivative product of the marijuana plant (Cannabis sativa L). Whether or not containing THC. Examples of items that cannot be shipped.
Internal combustion engines, gas-powered engines, like the kind used in a motor vehicle or other machine Examples of items that cannot be shipped: -Internal combustion engines -Only acceptable in ocean cargo
Items grown on farms or in gardens or items used when cultivating soil; planting; raising, and harvesting plants, crops, fruits, and vegetables. Examples of items that cannot be shipped: Seeds, Hay, Corn, Soybeans, Soil, Grain, Feed
Animals or parts of animals Examples of items that cannot be shipped: Live Animals, Dead Animals, Animal Parts, Animal Tissue, Animal furs, Animal skin, Live Fish
Raw chemicals but also some adhesives, pastes, sealants, cosmetics like peroxide, precursors for chemical weapons, etc… Refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet from the manufacturer to determine if the product can ship. Examples: Dry Ice, Adhesives, Sealants, Precursors to Chemical Weapons, Peroxides, Crazy Glue Adhesive, Disinfectants
Biological substances that may contain contagions or other hazardous substances. Examples: Bodily Fluids, Cell Cultures, Lab Reagents, Medical Specimens, Tissue Samples, Tear gas, Human Remains
